The purchase was agreed on the auspicious day of 22 July 2009--- the day of the total solar eclipse and a new moon day.
The Lindholme Island is a glacial moraine deposited at the end of the last ice age. The 120 acres are comprised of grasslands and woodlands comprised of ancient oaks and scots pine. The land is surrounded by the 3500 acre Hatfield moor, a part of the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve which is protected from development and home to a number of rare and endangered species of mammal, bird, and invertebrate.
Lindholme Hall with 18 rooms, formal gardens,walled vegetable garden and numerous outbuildings is in the center of Lindholme Island .
